About Tenafly Arts

Tenafly Arts was established in the Fall of 1997 and is dedicated to the training of students in music and dance, with an emphasis on the classics. Students at Tenafly Arts are taught technique and learn the logic behind their academic training. Music and dance are major art forms that help us to understand other arts forms, ie: drama, painting, and sculpture. The school offers classes for children ages 3 and older and adults in music and dance.

The Director, Sandra St. Laurent, a Tenafly native, was trained in classical ballet by Vladimir Dokoudovsky (student of Olga Preobrajenska), Lisa Danias, and Jack Hertzog in New York City.

Tenafly Arts is excited about its spacious new studio at 5 Atwood Avenue, which opened September 17, 2007. This state-of-the-art studio has three well-lit dance rooms with sprung floors and high ceilings, as well as sound-proof music rooms. The largest dance room is an amazing 58x43 feet.
